Alocasia plumbea 'Metallica'

'Metallic Elephant Ears' is an herbaceous perennial found in the tropical regions of SE Asia. The large heart-shaped leaves are glossy, metallic dark-green or blackish on top; the undersides are silver-purple. The stems and veins of the leaves are dark purple. The leaves arise from underground corms, which are similar to bulbs. Alocasia plumbea 'Metallica' can grow 5 to 6 feet tall. Use as a specimen in the landscape or as a thriller in a container garden. Prefers semi-shade to partial sun and consistently moist well-draining soil. (Pot size: 3 gallon)
