Be part of the Million orchid Project! You can help restore rare Florida orchids in your own backyard trees. Your restoration package will include 32 orchid seedlings, attachment materials, and informational package. These plants are three years old, germinated in our lab from seeds we collected at Fairchild. Encyclia tampensis plants of this size typically flower in one to two years. Delivered bare root, packed in moist sphagnum.
Encyclia tampensis(origin: Miami-Dade County), also called the "Butterfly Orchid", this hardy orchid grows well on a wide variety of hardwood trees including live oaks, mahogany, cypress, buttonwood, and fruit trees. It forms dense clusters along shady horizontal branches and flowers May-July.
