Barbados Gooseberry' or 'Leaf Cactus' is a cactus that does not look like a cactus. When young, it is a woody shrub, but then becomes a climbing vine over time and can climb trees. It has edible leaves and fruits that are usually cooked. The fruits are sour. Unlike typical cacti it has prominent leaves, but it does have spines as well. It is drought tolerant and can grow in full sun to shade (more compact in higher light). (Pot size: 3 gallon)
