Eugenia reinwardtiana
'Cedar Bay Cherry' is a beautiful medium to slow growing shrub or small tree in the family Myrtaceae. It can be kept as a shrub at desired heights or as a tree reaching a height of 15 to 30 feet. Eugenia reinwardtiana is native to tropical forests in northern Queensland, Indonesia and the Pacific Islands. It has shiny, green elliptical leaves and small cream white flowers. It is a constant producer of bright shiny red, sweet tasting edible fruits. Attracts birds. Use as an accent, hedge, screening shrub, or specimen plant. Plant in full to partial sun in well-draining soil. Eugenia reinwardtiana makes an excellent container plant for a balcony or porch, as it can mature and bear fruit in a 3-gallon container. And even if pruned to stay a few feet high, it will still produce fruit. (Pot size: 3 gallon)
