‘Cuplet Fern’ is a sprawling tropical fern that is a fast and vigorous grower, reaching 3 or 4 feet tall (perhaps a little taller in wetter habitat). Its native range includes the Tropical Americas and West Indies but also Florida, where it is listed as endangered. The species is called “cuplet fern” because the sporangia are borne in tiny cup-like structures along the leaf margins of mature fronds. This fern needs some space (it will eventually cover 10 square feet or more), and grows well in South Florida.  It will look best with some irrigation, but is adapted to our climate and will do fine without irrigation, once established. This species is rarely available for sale. (Pot size: 1 gallon)
