Siam Tulip is a rhizomatous, tropical perennial native to Thailand. Although the inflorescence, stems and leaves resemble a tulip, hence its common name, it is actually a member of the ginger family (Zingiberaceae). The inflorescence consists of showy pink petal-like bracts that surround tiny lavender flowers and these beauties will repeatedly bloom from June through August. In the winter months, from November to May, the plants go dormant. But not to worry, they will reappear the following spring, producing abundant blooms once again. Curcuma alismatifolia prefers bright, indirect light and well-draining soil. Keep the soil lightly moist at all times and provide humidity. (Pot size: 1.5 gallon)
