Anthurium scandens

Anthurium scandens is the only Anthurium that is a vine. It is a small, epiphytic, vining, creeper widely distributed from southern Mexico to Central and South America. This aroid grows a well-developed system of aerial roots to support its fleshy stems. It can climb 3 to 4 feet. The leaves are elliptical, glossy green above and mottled brown below. The inflorescence is upright or sometimes pendent. It is followed by very attractive, lavender, pearl-shaped berries. An easy to care for plant, prefers bright, indirect light, regular watering, a little extra humidity and well-draining soil. Place in a hanging basket or mount in a tree. (Pot size: 1 gallon)
