Thrinax parviflora subsp. parviflora

Among the Thrinax, this species from the mountains of Jamaica is one of the prettiest. It is an exceedingly slow growing palmate, single trunked palm distinguished by its rounded leaf crown and its twisted and curled leaf segments. The trunk is slender and smooth, reaching up to 30 feet in height. This robust palm thrives in tropical as well as subtropical climates. It does well even on poor, rocky, or sandy soils, as long as it is well drained and it adapts well to coastal exposure. Thrinax parviflora subsp. parviflora prefers full sun, but will survive in light shade. (Pot size: 3 gallon)
