Peperomia obtusifolia

The baby rubber plant is a Florida native that grows as an epiphyte in hammocks and swamps.  It also has a widespread distribution in the American tropics.  The leaves are dark green, succulent and glossy and the inflorescence is held in long upright columns characteristic of the piper family.  It spreads along the ground and will climb if there is sufficient moisture.  It needs light shade and water.
