Philodendron squamiferum

Philodendron squamiferum is a climbing epiphytic aroid native to French Guyana, Suriname and Northern Brazil. It is grown ornamentally for its uniquely shaped 5-lobed leaves and bright red pubescent petioles. It has the ability to reach impressive heights, but has a modest growth rate. Since it grows like a vine, it is best to give it support to climb on, but it takes well to pruning if you prefer to keep it full and bushy rather than as a vine. Suitable as a houseplant. Prefers medium to bright indirect light; sensitive to overwatering, so allow the top few inches of soil to dry out before watering again. Provide ample humidity. (Pot size: 1 gallon)
