'Catnip' is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the mint family. It is primarily cultivated for its unique properties that attract and stimulate cats, hence its common name "Catnip." The plant typically grows to a height of 2-3 feet, has a bushy appearance with square-shaped stems and aromatic, heart-shaped, gray-green leaves and produces small, tubular flowers with a lavender to white color. Nepeta cataria is a relatively low-maintenance plant. It prefers well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. It is also known to attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators to the garden.
