Oplonia armata var. armata

Oplonia armata var. armata is a spiny, dense shrub or small tree, reaching a height up to 6  feet, and endemic to the limestone forests of Jamaica. Branches are slender and arching with spines present on lower spreading vegetative shoots. Leaves are small and clustered. Flowers are dark pink and bloom from September to May. This is a great plant for S FL since our topography is a limestone substrate, similar to its origin. Prefers partial to full sun and well-draining soil. (Pot size: 1 gallon)
