Jacquinia keyensis, joewood, is a beautiful but very slow-growing small tree (5-15 feet) that can be found in the coastal strand of the Florida Keys as well as some portions of Long Pine Key in Everglades National Park. Leaves of this threatened species are leathery and curl under at the margins. Small, white flowers are extremely fragrant; this is a great plant for pollinators. Plant in full sun or light shade. It is salt and drought tolerant and very easy to grow. (Pot size: 3 gallon)
