Costus varzearum

Costus varzearum is distinctive by its wavy leaves that are dark green above and purple below. The flowers are a creamy yellow with red highlights and appear from early summer to fall. It grows up to 5 feet tall, prefers light shade to part sun and rich, moist, organic soil. It is important to keep the soil dry during dormancy to prevent the rhizomes from rotting.
